Here are a few comments from one of our middle-aged female members of the team on July 7, 2008:
"I have only had this Fit Flop for a few weeks. It definitely feels different and it propels you forward. Yet make sure that you purchase the right size so that it can fit snug on your feet. I also suggest that FitFlop add more cushion around the toe area and the band that goes over your feet. Overall, it is great cushion for your feet."

"After another good workout, Tiger Gatorade midly quenchess your thirst. It does provide nourshiment yet it lacks the taste in some of its varieties. The grape and red versions of Tiger Gatorade are much better than the original versions."

2007 Product News
Recently, the New Black Cultural Diet asked Billy Blanks during a live chat session on their website (www.billyblanks.com) the following question:
"I am still having problems getting my friends -- African American males -- to join the Billy Blanks exercise regimens. What do you suggest?"
Billy Blanks responded as follows:
"If you look at our culture, sometimes we have diabetes, and some of us die of heart attacks, we need to find a good cardio vascular workout and Taebo is the best. Guys like to box and fight. Taebo is a fighting training system. Tell your fellow brothers to do 5-10 minutes. Tell them Shaq does it, Magic Johnson does it. Eric Dickerson does it as well as other top athletes."
I had this chat room conversation on Billy Blanks website during their Chat Session with Billy and Shellie (Sept. 20, 2007)

Since there are very few organizations, agencies or experts evaluating health, diet, food and fitness products designed specifically for African Americans, The New Black Cultural Diet Team has decided that we will offer our expertise and insight into as many products that we can evaluate. After we have evaluated the specific product, The New Black Cultural Diet will provide you -- our analysis and recommendations.
The first product being evaluated is:
Description of Book - In Soul of a New Cuisine, Marcus returns to the land of his birth to explore the continent's rich
diversity of cultures and cuisines through recipes and stories from his travels in Africa. Stunning color images by award-
winning photographer Gediyon Kifle bring the breadth of the African experience to life, from fishermen at sunset off the
coast of Zanzibar to French baguettes loaded onto a bicycle in Senegal.
Marcus shares more than 200 enticing recipes, including his own African-inspired creations and traditional dishes
from all parts of Africa. You can delight in spicy stews and Babequed Snapper from West Africa and the familiar
Mediterranean flavors of dishes like Moroccan Lemon-Olive Chicken, or make your way east and south for the
irresistible taste combinations of dishes such as Curried Trout with Coconut-Chili Sauce from Kenya and Apple-Squash
Fritters from South Africa's Cape Malay. Using ingredients that are readily available in American markets, the recipes are
doable as well as delicious.
Of course, one of the keys to authentic African cooking is the use of spice blends and rubs, which elevate simple
cooking techniques to an excitingly varied and intense level. Marcus includes his favorites here, with blends that go from
sweet to spicy and feature everything form hot chili peppers and peppermint leaves to sesame seeds and ginger.
As he says, Africa is "a state of mind that I hope this book will help you tap into wherever you are." By cooking with
a handful of this and a pinch of that, trying new foods and enjoying old ones in a new way, and lingering over meats with
family and friends, you will bring the free relaxed spirit of African cooking to your table and discover for yourself the soul
of a "new" cuisine.
New Black Cultural Diet Team's Evaluation: This book is phenomenial and sometimes beyond words. The receipes that Marcus shares with the reader are all refreshing, beautiful, captivating and looks delicious! We are trying out one at a time and it has been a journey into a new world of tasting and enjoyment!! We actually feel like we are experiencing cuisine from another part of the world and indeed we are!! In addtion to the recipes, Marcus adds the beautiful pictures of the landscape and the people!! We truly enjoy that connection with the culture of Africa! This is a book that expand your palete and make you hungry for more while also being very healthy oriented!! Wow!! what an experience!
2. New Exercise CD - Tae Bo Fat Blasting Set by Billy Blanks. 2006. Website: www.billyblanks.com/homepage.asp
Description of Exercise CD - Two well-structured videos/CD: a fast-paced, all cardio program plus an aero/tone interval workout. They're the ideal complement to Billy's Boot Camp Elite because they also use the Billy Bands to increase effectiveness and control. "Fat Blasting Cardio" integrates the bands within the aerobics to add intensity without reducing the speed (e.g. lots of challenging "double time" moves and even some fun, new kick combos). "Total Body Fat Blaster" alternates fast cardio with slower body sculpting. Each toning section targets a specific body part, using the bands to fully work the entire muscle group (47 & 57 mins).
New Black Cultural Diet Team's Evaluation: We love this workout CD!! It brings together many of the moves from his earlier videos/cd's and now it allows you to concentrate on specific areas of the body, particularly the ABs, thighs and arms!! It's invigorating and truly fun!! We didn't think that we would initially be able to complete this entire exercise but we did because we started slowly and then built up our endurance!! That is is the key with the Billy Blanks workouts -- do the basic moves first and then do the more intense workouts like this one!! Oh yeah, the bands are great to use and they make your body parts work even when you don't think it will! The bands pushes your exercise to another level! Be prepared. Overall, you have to get this tape/CD's if you want to truly concentrate on those trouble parts of your body!! We can't wait for the next line of Tae Bo tapes/CDs!
